Psychedellic Mushrooms and Flower Power

I have been so excited to use the mushroom cookie cutter that I bought at the end of March, but have not had an opportunity present itself, so I finally got to use it the other day. Even though it was fun to bake with Ky, and the cookies turned out cute, I really hate making sugar cookies. They take so much freaking time! We made this batch on Friday and didn't even get around to frosting them til Monday. Oh well, I am sure that there will be many more batches of sugar cookies to come, the Fourth of July is coming up!

Kanea Point

On Wednesday we headed up to Kaena Point, which is on the west side of the Island. We stopped at the beach and it was so beautiful. While looking in the water, we noticed that what we thought were rocks on the reef, were actually turtles eating algae off the the rocks. As we took pictures and watched the turtles eat crap off some rocks, we looked down the beach a little way and saw atleast ten more! It was so cool, the kids were loving it! Despite the wind tunnel that we seemed to bee stuck in that made the sand whip our legs and faces so dang bad, the mountains and turtles provided an awesome trip for us! The sand was arm though, and Axel and I crawled on our hands and knees looking for sea shells... Evie followed after, mostly eating the shells

For my Birthday

Axel Kylin has been obsessed with planning his birthday party, which isn't until October. We already have a theme picked out, and the other day he asked me to "make a plan" for his party, then began to list of things we needed for his party. These items made it to the list:
chocolate
vanilla
icecream
cake
lolipops
Today at lunch, he insisted that we make the list of his friends who would be invited. He got everyone from Special ED and all his Primary teachers. This party should go off without a hitch..I don't think I have ever planned so well for one!

Cute Headband- All Work and no Play Make Jenny a Dull Girl!

Here is that latest craft I've made! I love this blog! She has such good ideas, hence, the headband. Since I don't have an original thought in my head, I copy... hey, it's the biggest form of flattery right! http://iammommahearmeroar.blogspot.com/>

Feliz Cumpeanos Axel

Being the excellent wife that I am, I wanted Axel's 25th birthday to be special, so I planned a Mexican fiesta for him. We had a burro pinata, food, salsa dancing, and the most awesome cake ever, thanks to the Myitas, the wonderful Alaskins that live in Special ED (this is a name given to our buildings D and E by every other building here at TVA, nice, I know). Michelle piped some amazing frosting onto this traditional looking sombrero cake. The poncho wearing mexican on top was complete with hat and Mexican style mustache. If you ever need cakes made, they are the next cake bosses!

The Heiau

This was the view on a mini hike we took at the Heiau, which turns out to be a sacrificial temple from Native Hawaiians. Hey, if I could have this view while I sacrificed people, I might consider it. It was so beautiful up there, but we worried about wild boars.. kind of scary when you are with little ones and we didn't have any form of defense. i guess we could have used the diaper bag, it probably would have given us a bit of a head start, though I don't actually know if a wild pig would attack or not. Never the less, the scenery was amazing and it was interesting to learn about the sight.
